ZK Engineer

About the role

We want people to be able to prove a fact about themselves, that they clear some threshold, without handing over everything behind the claim. Building that honestly is the role. You'd design and implement circuits in Circom, Noir, or whatever you're fastest in, generate proofs client-side, and verify them in a service route or on-chain. The circuit is rarely the hard part. The hard part is being clear-eyed about what the proof actually attests to, what still leaks (timing, the threshold itself, whether repeat proofs can be linked), and where a trusted signature has to sit so you aren't proving facts over unverified input. Applied-cryptography rigor and an honest account of what leaks matter more here than a long resume.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement zero-knowledge circuits using Circom, Noir, or similar toolchains
• Build client-side proof generation and on-chain or backend verification flows
• Integrate proof-backed features into applications with clear UX
• Model what proofs attest to, what they leak, and where trust assumptions live
• Analyze soundness, performance, and on-chain verification cost
• Document threat models and cryptographic design decisions

Required skills

• Experience designing and implementing zero-knowledge circuits
• Strong understanding of proving systems, commitments, and signature schemes
• Ability to reason rigorously about soundness, privacy, and information leakage
• Solidity or backend integration experience for proof verification
• Clear technical writing and threat-modeling skills

Preferred skills

• Experience with Circom, snarkjs, Noir, Halo2, or comparable frameworks
• Familiarity with issuer signatures, nullifiers, and identity systems
• Applied cryptography or security research background
